In detail...
A hit-and-run snowboarder collided with a woman who was skiing in Austria, dislocating her right knee. The impact was so severe that the woman's foot was twisted backwards and she passed out in pain. She was taken to a local hospital.
The husband contacted BUPA Travel Services and they contacted the Austrian hospital to assess the extent of the injury. Within 72 hours the woman was airlifted to the UK in a specially-converted plane under the care of a nurse.
