BUPA Travel Services assisted a 60 year old customer who, during a holiday in the USA, was taken into hospital complaining of chest pains.

 

The hospital carried out a series of tests culminating in treatment to insert a stent - a mini scaffold - into a main artery to keep it open to help blood flow to the heart.

After a period of recuperation, BUPA Travel Services sent a specially trained doctor to the US to escort him home.

The total cost of the claim was nearly £80,000.The customer had paid only £250 for his cover.
